“If you have nothing nice to say, run until you find something nice to look at...”
— me.
For about 30 years, I've been lucky. I’ve worked at doing exactly what I’m good at.
For the first 25 years of my career I built and helped run a small comms agency in Edmonton (11 people plus contractors). We sold graphic design and advertising and web design services. Then, in the pandemic, I stepped away from that role and took a job. That job took me back to my roots: education. I currently work for an independent charity-run senior high school that caters to a street-engaged, mostly Indigenous, student population. My role at this not-for-profit is providing technology support, communications support, fundraising support, and operational strategy to the organization’s leadership team.
During part of that 25 years, in my off-hours, I ran with a camera and took photos of the Edmonton area. I continue to do this every other day. I recently created a book of imagery called “Second Glances”. A portion of the sale of this book will be donated to the charity where I work.
