I think the best stories are where the head, the eye, and the heart align…
I have worked in graphic design and marketing in Edmonton, Alberta, for most of my life. I was and am a co-owner of a local communication agency. At our height, we had a staff of fifteen. I was in charge of creative. I still design and create commercially, but it is a much smaller enterprise now.
Seven years ago, I started running with a camera. I captured imagery that I saw as ‘poetic’. I called this pursuit ‘Runtography’ to legitimize it and make it sound well, less insane. I’ve run more than 12,974 * kilometers now, mostly outdoors in Alberta, with a DSLR camera in a backpack.
Is it a bit ridiculous? Yes. Just ask my wife or my knees. So, ummm, why? Well, somebody once told me, "Find three hobbies that you love: one to keep you in shape, one to keep you creative, and one to make you money."
But who has time for that? So I sort of rolled that into one…thing.
