The Interconnections of Photography & Poetry
On Tuesday, April 7, at 7 pm I'm part of a free 'Poetography’ event in downtown Edmonton. The evening is put on by the Edmonton Poetry Festival, and, like me, these kind of events run all month.
I'm one of three 'poetry-aligned' artists. My co-presenters are Wendy McGrath and Trisia Eddy Woods and the moderator is Kim Mannix. We will be talking that night about how photography and poetry interconnect.
“What does it mean to have a poetic eye? How do writers create an ekphrastic poem from photographic inspiration? Is the way photographers capture the world through their metaphorical and literal lenses a unique kind of poetry? Photographer Jeff Day, poet and novelist Wendy McGrath, and poet and photographer Trisia Eddy Woods will discuss their artistic approaches and join moderator Kim Mannix for a conversation on the fascinating intersections between poetry and photography.”
FNo RSVP is required.
Address:
Arts Hub Creative Studios, 10131 97 St NW, Edmonton, AB - enter on far right door (south end of building). The event is in the Bowladrome Gallery in the basement.
I will have some of my photo work hanging at the Bowladrome Gallery.
Hope 2 👀 you.
